The full story:

After obtaining a Masters Degree in from the University of Orléans in 1995, I joined the leading European distributor of EcoWater Systems products as their Marketing and Communications Manager. After 4 years at the helm of all things marcoms, and attracted by the buzz of London where I studied in 1994, I then decided to try my luck in the British capital. Before long I met a cute Aussie bird, who was to later become my dear beautiful wife. In London I worked with TSMS, a media company that was part of the United News & Media group.

In 2000, we left for Sydney, Australia, and I had to re-invent myself in a country where I had never set foot before. I joined Optus Telecommunications and looked after the dial-up and broadband customer loyalty activities of Optusnet, one of Australia’s largest Internet Services Providers. At the end of 2002, Optus became SingTel Optus and me a Dad. These events triggered my decision to give an old dream a go: being my own boss. So, I set up Smartride, an original chauffeur concept where drivers are sent out on folding mopeds to meet inhebriated Sydneysiders and drive them home in their own cars (you drink, we drive). The business grew enough to generate some valuable PR, including national TV, but not quite enough to support my growing family’s needs. After almost 2 years of very hard work, I decided to go back to the corporate life, preferring to spend my weekends with my wife and my sweet little boy rather than on a smelly 2-stroke moped driving drunk people home.

After a brief 6-month contract with American Express Australia, I took the job of Brand Manager for Cellarmaster Wines (Foster’s Group). There, I launched 2 wine retailing websites, generated countless direct marketing campaigns, online and offline, one of which made a million dollars in three weeks. One million bucks, all by myself.

In August 2006 we were getting antsy again and, because we could,  went on to pursue our elusive dream of living in the USA. This didn’t prove to be the best life choice and in May 2007 we decided to go to London to give our respective careers a well-needed boost. From August 2007 to April 2010 I headed the Internet Marketing and Online Strategy operations for Herbalife in EMEA – a great job where I acquired an enormous amount of digital and SEO knowledge.

I moved  back to Australia in April 2010 with my family to pursue his international consulting activities, and a better lifestyle. A success so far.
